~~~ GOLD Football League Rules ~~~
Current revision: Issue #20.0 (last updated: 04-04-24)
  • VII. Transactions
    • a. Transactions are controlled through the web site and can be accessed ONLY when logged in. Transactions are accessed through OWNER FUNCTIONS in the LEAGUE Menu (see right).
    • How to submit roster change requests (Waivers / Trades / IR):
      • Transaction requests must be submitted on the WANNABE Sports web site.
        Note: Online submissions are confirmed by return e-mail. If the submission is not confirmed, it is the team owners responsibility to follow up.
        NOTE: on-line requests provide immediate confirmation online as well as via optional e-mail.
      • Each team is allowed 40 transactions per season. Transactions include waiver, trade and IR movement.
      • ALL in-season transactions must result in exactly 15 active players on the team's roster. Trades or other regular season transactions involving uneven numbers must be combined in such a way as to insure the final outcome results in 15 active players on each roster. (See Draft Rules for roster size info)
      • Email Requests for transactions will only be considered if the WANNABE Sports web site is non-functional.
      • Email Requests must contain reason for email submission.
      • Email Requests must contain an adequate description to identify all players involved (Name, and if necessary, position and/or NFL team).
      • Email Requests must contain name of requesting team (all involved in case of trades) and name of League.
      • Incomplete and multiple requests will be subject to the best judgement of WANNABE Sports and may be rejected without notice if lacking adequate information.
    • Waivers
      • Active roster players can be placed on waivers (released) and replacements picked from the available, non-drafted players (free agents). Each team is allowed waivers during weeks 1 through 17. No waiver requests are allowed after the week 17 Line-up Deadline.
        PLEASE NOTE: "waiver weeks" preceed the actual games for that same week number.
      • Real-time Waiver Requests. All allowed waivers are made final immediately. Waivers are first-come, first-serve. In the case of early games (prior to 8:30pm ET Monday), fantasy team starters on the NFL teams involved CANNOT be waived during the remainder of the CURRENT Week. Requests involving these players must wait until AFTER Monday at 8:30pm ET (when the week officially changes).
      • Delayed Waiver Requests. -- DELETED -- (Iss.15).
    • Regular Season Trades
      • Each team is allowed to trade active roster players directly from one team to another during the period beginning with the close of the draft and ending with the final line-up submittal time for week 12. Multiple player trades are allowed but the final outcome of such trades must result in the same number of players in each position for every team. 2 for 1s, etc. may require that a team use a waiver or pick-up an extra player to keep player counts correct. Please email the Commissioner with details of any non-standard trade requests.
        • Trades are not subject to any waiting period and can be submitted anytime and will be made official in the week all valid submissions are received and approved.
        • Trades must be independently submitted by all involved teams and then approved by WANNABE Sports to be official.
        • Trades requiring use of waivers (to maintain required roster structure) must be submitted with all information necessary to complete the waivers and the trades before being finalized by WANNABE Sports. Involved waivers must be successful to validate the trade. Please email the Commissioner with details when submitting non-standard trade requests.
    • Off-Season Trades (End-of-season through Aug. 15th)
      • Players currently on a team roster and picks from the upcoming draft may be traded. Only draft picks from the upcoming season may be traded. PLAYERS DO NOT NEED TO BE DESIGNATED AS SAVED TO TRADE THEM BUT any player to be saved MUST be designated once received in a trade. There are no position restrictions in off-season trades but all trades are still subject to approval and can be denied if deemed unfair.
      • No transaction cost is associated with off-season trades.
      • Trades which involve draft picks in odd quantities will include an implied trade as well to 'even out' the trade. The team which concludes the trade with too many draft picks forfiets their last original pick (usually round 14 for the first instance) and the team with too few picks inherits this forfieted pick.
    • Inactive Reserve (IR) Each team maintains two(2) Inactive Reserve slots subject to the following:
      • Maximum of two(2) players on IR at any one time.
      • Movement (pick-up/release) for the purpose of IR placement is subject to the same conditions as Real-Time Waiver requests.
      • Cost to place a player on IR = one(1) transaction. (Includes 1 pick-up)
      • Cost to remove a player from IR = one(1) transaction. (Includes 1 drop)
      • A player removed from IR CANNOT be placed back on IR by the same team. Only one move to IR per player per season is allowed while the player remains on the same WANNABE team.
      • Players cannot be swapped between active roster and IR. Each time a player is placed on IR, a player MUST be added. Each time a player is removed from IR, a player MUST be dropped.
      • IR is allowed in weeks 1-14 (regular season) only . Any player remaining on IR after the final waiver deadline for Week 14 is automatically waived and DOES COUNT against any remaining waivers. Even players designated as saved will be removed from the roster if still on IR after Week 14.
