- V. Drafts
- a. Drafts are controlled and conducted through the web site and can be accessed ONLY when logged in. Draft control is accessed through OWNER FUNCTIONS in the LEAGUE Menu (see right).
- b. Each year a pre-season draft (as per methods specified by WANNABE Sports) is conducted prior to the beginning of the NFL regular season. Each team will draft and/or save NFL players to fill a roster of the following:
- 1 - Quarterback (QB) [max. 3]
- 2 - Running Backs (RB)
- 2 - Wide Receivers (WR)
- 1 - Tight End (TE) [max. 3]
- 1 - Kicker (K) [max. 2]
- 1 - Defense/Special Team (DT/ST) [max. 2]
- 7 - Bench Players (all positions)
- (maximums apply ONLY to draft)
NOTE: Rosters must remain at 15 active players during the fantasy season. Any roster containing more or less than 15 active players (for whatever reason) will be adjusted by default within 24 hours of the act causing the discrepancy if not corrected by the team owner prior to that time. Any default adjustment will be at the discretion of the Commissioner and will be considered FINAL and irrevocable.
- c. NFL players are drafted and/or acquired only at the position defined by WANNABE Sports. No NFL player will be drafted or acquired at more than one individual position (QB,RB,WR,TE,K) within a given League. All players will continue to score throughout the season at their drafted or acquired position even if their NFL position changes during the season.
NOTE: NFL players may receive individual scores as well as contribute to their NFL team's DT/ST scores.
- d. Draft order will be determined by random computer-generated lottery conducted by WANNABE Sports for the first season of competition. Successive seasons' draft order will be determined using reverse order of previous season's finish.
- Draft order selection for continuing Leagues is performed using the previous season's final standings. Last season's last place team obtains 1st position within the current draft followed by 2nd choice for the next-to-last and so on through the 12th pick which goes to the Championship team from the previous season.
- Championship game contenders finish 1st and 2nd.
- Semi-final round losers finish 3rd and 4th with order of seeding as deciding factor.
- 5th-8th finishes will be the quarter-finals' losers also decided by seeding.
- Remaining positions are determined solely by final regular season records.
- e. Draft dates and times are posted separately. Drafts typically take 1-2 hours. Mock Drafts are available for practice and linked from the Fantasy Calendar.
- f. Selection time limit is 90 seconds. Failure to meet a selection deadline will result in an automatic pick for that round. Pick will come either from the team's valid list or the Default List. Each team needs to maintain a valid list of players during the draft to accomodate the procedure and insure their input!! An advisable method of preparing for each pick is to prepare a list of available players in order of "best"to "least-best" between your current pick and your next pick. Your list should contain as many names as there are picks until your next selection -- plus one. The DRAFT Interface provides list functions and data to help keep up with how many picks remain until your team's next pick.
- g. The reverse-order or serpentine method is used for all GOLD League drafts
Round 1: 1st - 12th
Round 2: 12th - 1st
Round 3: 1st - 12th
etc.
- h. If a League is faced with less than 12 independently owned teams, WANNABE Sports operated team(s) will be played as abandoned teams (Sec.II.b.). Teams will be drafted by WANNABE Sports when ownership is unavailable. These teams will be considered available to interested parties trough week 12 of the regular season. A minimum of eight independently owned teams will be required to Officially begin a NEW GOLD League.
- i. Trades of draft picks for saved players or other draft picks are allowed as described but trading activity IS NOT allowed during the player draft.
